First Aid Kit

As a follow-up to the last article on bathroom clean up, here is a list for a first aid kit to have on hand.
1. Acetaminophen for pain.
2. Antihistimine for bee stings, bug bites, and allergies.
3. Syrup of Ipecac to induce vomiting in case of poisoning, but call poison control before administering. Also should be replaced every year.
4. Triangular bandage for wrapping an injury or for making a sling.
5. Ace bandage for wrapping sprains.
6. Instant activating ice bags.
7. Various sizes of adhesive Band-Aids.
8. Roll of gauze plus 2 inch and 4 inch gauze pads for dressing wounds.
9. Adhesive tape for gauze.
10. Scissors.
11. Safety pins.
12. Tweezers to get out splinters or other small items.
13. Antibacterial soap.
14. Petroleum jelly.
15. Antibacterial ointment.
16. Rubbing alcohol.
17. Cotton balls or swabs.
18. Thermometer.
19. A first aid instruction booklet or book. The Boy Scouts of America has an excellent all around handbook with a great first aid section.

These items are pretty inexpensive but when you need them, they are essential to have on hand. Thanks, Leslie
