55 Items to Get Rid Of
I read an article by Julie Morgenstern from her website in March 2009. She lists out 55 things to get rid of in five days.
Day one: 10 items from your clothes closet that you don’t wear and won’t wear
9 books or magazines that you will not re-read or will never read in the first place
Day two: 8 items from your bathroom
7 DVDs, CDs, or VHS tapes you don’t like
Day three: 6 items from the pantry – either stale, or something you don’t like and won’t use
5 items from your kitchen – any gizmo or broken or old item
Day four: 4 items on your to-do list that you keep putting off – either buck up and do it or cross it off as doesn’t need to be done
3 chores – these are things that someone else should really be doing – this could be at home or at work
Day five: 2 obligations in your schedule that you really don’t want to do – any appointment or meeting that you regret making but that doesn’t NEED to be done. Don’t cancel that doctor’s appt you do need.
1 habit that is keeping you from moving forward – procrastination, constantly checking emails, blogs, Facebook, etc.
